Be in my band
Hi, my name is Luke. I’m a recent college grad living in NH. I’ve been singing, playing, and writing my own songs since I was in high school. I’ve been in bands consistently but now I’m looking for serious members who want to record and play shows and have the time and dedication to do so. So with that in mind I’m looking for (at least) a drummer and bassist who can sing backup. Don’t necessarily want to limit myself though, so if you play something else and can sing backup feel free to get in touch. That would probably get the drummer off the hook for having to sing.
Influences include Weezer, Piebald, The Promise Ring/Maritime, Saves the Day, and The Pillows, as well as many others. Just about all of my songs use swing beats, and are fairly simple to play. I have about an album’s worth of songs that are ready to go, and another album’s worth that aren’t as fleshed out, so there won’t be a shortage of material anytime soon. I know what I want for drum/bass parts but we can tinker. I have no problem traveling, or I have practice space here.
Expect to work hard and start playing shows/recording as soon as you learn enough songs. I have some demos up at http://soundcloud.com/instantvillains that can give you a good idea of what I’m about. So let me know if you’re interested, I’ll go through as many awkward meetings as it takes to find the right people for the job.
